Future Frontier Fellow: Jamey Herman

We’re ecstatic to announce a Future Frontier Fellow, Jamey Herman!!!!

Jamey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon where he focused on sculpture and print-making. Jamey now lives in Portland, Oregon.

Most of his sculpture is rooted in found objects, so Green River will truly be an artist’s paradise for Jamey. Remember how we found 9 sinks in our basement? Plus, there’s the unending supply of treasures at Green River Thrift Store! Jamey is also interested in building a geodesic dome while here which immediately made us recall the Bike Dome that Jay Sanders installed at Doo Nanny (an outside folk art festival in Alabama put on by Butch Anthony) a few years back.

Jamey will join us on February 6th, and will stay in Green River one month as a Fellow making beautiful artifacts and enjoying Winter in Utah. He will be our 9th Frontier Fellow ever and our second Fellow in 2012. View more of Jamey’s work on his website.

Apply for the Frontier Fellowship (suggested date of February 29th to be considered for 2012).
