New song by Grizzly Bear entitled “Sleeping Ute”

“Ute” in the Ute Indian language means “land of the sun.” It was this word the US federal government used to create the name Utah. The Mormon pioneers had applied for the name of the state to be Deseret, a Hebrew translation for “honeybee.”
