Farewell to Our Frontier Fellow, Mr. Flood!
This week, Justin “JR” Flood left the Epicenter after one month as a Frontier Fellow. Below are just a few of our favorite memories from his time in Green River:
1. Reunion with Little Buddy
2. Haircut at the local Cut & Curl
3. Cycling to/from the Beach (often and involving many flat tubes)
4. Redesigning the BEAR logo
5. I enjoyed my conversations with JR on the “Future of Architecture,” and I look forward to JR’s final article. -Maria (Epicenter Co-director)
6. Extending his stay for one week!
7. JR moved into my room the same day I left for Denver for AmeriCorps training. I saw his stuff, but never met him. The whole time I was in Denver I would try to imagine what he looked like; the most vivid image I had of him was a skinny punk kid with a green mohawk. Needless to say, I was surprised to meet the tall, short-shorts wearing man that I saw when I came off of the train from Denver. -Armando (Epicenter AmeriCorps VISTA)
8. NBA jam tournament: CELTICS VS TRAILBLAZERS -Raphy (Epicenter Frontier Fellow)
9. On top of the Book Cliffs, climbing to the top of the knoll when we thought JR was lost, and he shouted, “LUNA!”
10. His tiny fedora. -Joey (Head Cook at the Green River Community Center)
